After seeing the play “Hamilton” it dawned on me that the Jazz Singer

Neil’s movie version would work so much better as a musical on stage. They have taken movies like Legally Blonde, the Lion King, and others and made them musicals.

  1. Perhaps, but I think that story has been done to death.

    Three films with, essentially, the same story would make it a very difficult sell as a stage show.  That’s only my opinion of course.

    On the other hand, I think Beautiful Noise could make a wonderful piece of theatre.  It’s a powerful evocation of the heyday of Tin Pan Alley and the experience of  an aspiring songwriter making his way in that environment.  Powerful songs. Great story.  Huge potential.  Again, only my opinion!
