  1. I wonder....

after his tour retirement, he released the Greek video and the 6 cd compilation pretty quickly.  Being recently retired myself, maybe he decided to clear off the desk with those projects and that’s it.   OR with more studio time (vs tour planning and rehearsal time) he’s doodling around in the studio if the call of song comes to him he may drop some music.  Nothing is on the LOC recently.  OR his focus could be on the Broadway project and we won’t see any releases of new creativity until then.  Whatever he does (or doesn’t) good for him and enjoy.

  2. I wish but I don't think so..

I was running this morning listing to some Neil and pining for the feeling of an anticipated tour.  Until Neil retired I never realized how programmed I was to get the itch for Neil after a year or two after a tour.  I’m slowly coming to terms that it is highly unlikely we will see him perform live again.

That said, if his health is good and he’s up to it, he’s got plenty of voice for another album.  No matter what happens moving forward we have plenty of memories and recordings to choose from when we need a “Neil fix.”  I hope he’s happy.

PS. The HAN 40th anniversary was outstanding!

  3. Like everything.....................

All Good things have to come to an end don’t they ?

Whatever Neil does from here onwards he most certainly deserves it and I most certainly wouldn’t expect him to give anything anymore.

The giving is over and as such so will the taking from everyone I gather.

Neil, Enjoy what’s left of life as you only live once, heaven knows you’ve earnt it.

  4. Maybe yes, maybe no...

While I have no illusions about Neil’s grounding in the songwriting business was just that: as a business, I also think it long ago grabbed him with the creativity it allowed him to bring to the whole process. Song-writing became a canvas, and Neil, it turned out, could paint like a master.

I could offer several songs to advance my argument. Walk On Water immediately comes to mind, as does Done Too Soon, and of course I Am, I Said. Above all else, though, The African Trilogy and Beautiful Noise pretty much says it all, not to mention that amazing mural that is Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

So yeah, it wouldn’t shock me at all if Neil surprised us with a studio album… if he feels like it. That’s the nice part of retirement, you can do something today if you want to, or not.
